78. Rest and refocus: why it's okay to take a break from dating

I want to dive into a lesson I am actively learning in my life, which is to do nothing. I’ve been thinking about how my clients and listeners of Date Brazen can apply this lesson to their dating lives too. So yes, this week, I am inviting you to:

Do Nothing.

I know, I know. The thought of doing nothing can be scary. You may be thinking, but if I am not swiping or trying; I am simply not doing enough. Doing nothing does not negate the work you’ve done or will do in the future.

Doing nothing is a key part of the intentional effort you are making. Intentional effort leads to intentional results. BUT, intentional action doesn’t always mean BEING ACTIVE or constantly DOING. No, it can also mean laying down, deleting the dating app for a week (Yes!), and most importantly, being intentional about rest.

What if you gave yourself permission to not have it figured out right now?
What if you gave yourself permission to not know all the steps to take?
Instead, turn inward and come home to yourself and take a break.

You deserve rest, my beautiful friend.
